How can i connect to Xbox live when my computer and xbox are in different rooms?
Q. Okay, in short my xbox is in one place but my computer and modem are in the other. I need to connect to Xbox live. I have and adapter but its not strong enough to reach the signal from my wireless router. I cant move my xbox to my computer room but I do have a laptop that gets the signal fine that i can have in my room. How can i make Xbox live happen?
Asked by Launii3G - Sat Jan 5 19:15:08 2008 - - 11 Answers - 2 Comments

A. just hook up the ethernet cable from your 360 to to your laptop. Once you do that, on your laptop, go to control panel, then network and internet connections, then network connections, right click on your internet connection, go to properties, then advance and check the box that says "allow other users to connect..." Basically enable the internet on your laptop to share its connection

A. It's really difficult without seeing your laptop. As long as you haven't deleted any of your settings, try deleteing the Hotel configuration completely.

A. Xbox 360 pro Colour:White Hard Drive:60gb No HDMI lead included Xbox 360 Elite Colour:Black Hard Drive:120gb HDMI lead included Xbox 360's do have a tendance to break. I'm now on my third in two years. Microsoft have extended their warranty on it to three years if you get the three red lights (overheating). Other than that you have three months. They're worth getting but only if you are gonna use xbox live. That allows you to play various games online against other users around the world. My third xbox i have is an elite. It's still going strong and showing no sign of breaking after 10 months of use.

How do i move only my Xbox 360 content to the new Xbox 360 slim without moving my brothers content?
Q. Me and my brother both share the same Xbox 360. Eventually I will be getting the Xbox 360 slim, and I want to move my profile, map packs, and pretty much everything that is mine, to my new Xbox. But i don't know how to do this. Could somebody please tell me how?
Asked by Chris - Tue Jun 15 20:21:37 2010 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments

A. Um... no. He only wants to transfer some stuff, guys. Use any old USB drive, preferably one that has at least 2 GB of storage. (Something that everyone with a computer should own, and they cost under $10.) With a recent 360 update, you can use these to store data. You'll have to go to Memory and manually move everything related to your profile over to the USB stick, and then plug it into your new Slim when you get it and transfer it to that HDD. If you have a LOT of data, this might require several trips. Keep in mind that if you bought DLC, it might be easier to just redownload it onto your new console. Also keep in mind that your DLC will still be licensed to your old console, so you'll only be able to use it on your new console when… [cont.]

A. There should be Ethernet ports on both the xbox and the back of the router. You just simply need to determine how long of a cable you need, get it, and plug it in. It's pretty easy.

How do I connect my XBOX 360 to my monitor and speakers, and easily switch back to my pc?
Q. I know about the VGA cables that microsoft provides to make the xbox connect to a monitor, but they still have those big, clunky audio cables attached. How am I supposed to listen to the audio from the XBOX 360 with those? I need one of those tiny headphone-type connectors... Also, I would like to be able to switch between my computer and the xbox on the same monitor and speaker setup without changing the wires every time. Is this possible?

A. If you buy the official microsoft Xbox 360 VGA cable, they come with the headphone-type connector adapter for the red/white audio RCA cables. If you get a VGA switch box, you can choose either your Xbox 360 or PC connections to work with your monitor (see link below).

My main menu screen would be there and everything. Now i have a new machine and when i turn the system on its not signed into any profile. How do i change this option to have me signed in everytime i turn the machine on?
Asked by john24601ny - Mon Mar 1 11:50:37 2010 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. This is very easy to do so just follow these steps: 1. Push the Xbox Guide button on your controller (big grey one) 2. Go to the whole way right tab labeled "Settings" 3. Select "Profile" 4. Look for "Auto Sign In" and select it 5. Enable it all done! Just so you know, what happened on your other console is that once you create a new account, it is automatically set to Auto Sign In until you turn it off. You didn't create your account on your new xbox 360 so it didn't make it Auto Sign In. Hope this helps!

A. Xbox 360 kinect The new Xbox 360 redesign is slimmer, quieter, sleeker, has built in Wireless N, and has a 250GB hard drive. It is not a new console, and is not any spectacular leap for Xbox. This is simply a better Xbox 360. First off, the console looks great. It is much smaller than the current model, and has a really nice black glossy finish (although fingerprints show up a lot easier). The buttons are now touch sensitive rather than physical buttons. It is also, as said by Microsoft, "whisper quiet". Unlike the current model, this one doesn't sound like a jet engine when running, and allows it to be practically unnoticed, a big plus when watching movies. It also has built in Wireless N Wifi, which adds a significant value to this… [cont.]

How to connect xbox with full hd tv and surround sound system?
Q. I have a full high definition panasonc plasma tv, a panasonc blu ray home theatre system, and an xbox 360. I just wanted to know how I would connect them so audio from tv channels as well as audio from the xbox can play through the blu ray home theatre system. And also what leads I would need such as hdmi and optical audio cables. Thanks very much and any help is appreciated.
Asked by Tom L - Fri Aug 13 03:22:59 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If your Home Theater System supports audio via HDMI then you connect HDMI from cable box and Xbox to it. If it doesn't, you connect HDMI from cable box and Xbox to TV for video then optical cable from cable box and Xbox to Home Theater System for audio.

What's the difference between an Xbox 360 Arcade and a normal 360 with a 20Gb memory apart from the memory?
Q. I recently bought an Xbox 360 Arcade with Halo 3. I've gone over many websites trying to find differences between it and a normal 20Gb Xbox 360, or is that just it. If that is the case, then will it play Xbox original games if I buy a 20Gb memory for it? Any answers would be greatly received.
Asked by arkantosdt - Fri Sep 26 10:43:04 2008 - - 6 Answers - 4 Comments

A. There is no difference in the systems except the Hard drives . All their guts, operating system and graphics are the same. Yes to play the older system games you need a hard drive and frankly a 20Gb is more that enough room i keep lots of stuff on mine from game info to music files and still have tons of space left. BTW if you want a bargain you can find lots of 20GB hard drives on Ebay and at stores like Gamestop for around $50.

How do I transfer specific data from one xbox 360 to another?
Q. My cousin made a profile with xbox live in my Xbox 360 and he might get a Xbox 360 for his birthday. So is there a way for us to transfer just his avatar and data to his xbox 360 console. I heard that the memory card will work but i wanna be sure, and if so how?
Asked by Ethan - Mon Nov 16 22:24:26 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You can use a memory card. Just go to memory in the system tab on the xbox guide and copy his profile to the memory card. However, I would recommend just recovering his gamertag on his xbox when he gets it. It will transfer his avatar and all of his gamerscore by simply downloading it. This would be the easiest solution. To do this, when he first turns on his xbox, instead of creating a new profile, click on recover gamertag.

How much does Gamestop buy used Xbox 360 games for?
Q. My xbox just got the red ring of death and all of my friends have PS3's. So i am planning to sell all of my games and buy a PS3. I have 34 xbox 360 games and 2 original xbox games. Some are very new games but others are fairly old. I know that how much they buy each for depends on what game it is but i was just wondering what a rough estimate of how much I will get for each game.

Asked by B W - Tue Aug 17 18:35:42 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The Elite comes with a 120 or 250 GB hard drive, which is bigger than the other models. It also comes in colours other than white -- most are black, I've got a red one from the Resident Evil 5 bundle. Other than that they're identical -- all 360s have the same internal components including HDMI, ever since late 2008.
